Ingredients:
2 cups flour, sifted
1 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 cup vegetable shortening
3/4 cup sugar
1 egg
1/2 tsp. vanilla
1/2 cup sour cream
1/2 cup black walnuts,chopped
1 tbl. sugar
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
Preparation:
Sift together the flour, baking powder, soda and salt. Blend together the vegetable shortening and sugar; creaming well.
Add the egg and vanilla; beat well. Add the sour cream alternately with the dry ingredients to the creamed mixture.
Blend well after each addition. Fold in walnuts. Drop the dough by teaspoonsful onto a greased baking sheet.
Dip bottom of greased glass into the mixture of 1 tbl. sugar and 1/2 tsp. cinnamon. Flatten each cookie.
Bake at 375* for 8-10 minutes.
