Ingredients:
1 cup sifted flour
1/4 tsp. baking powder
1/4 cup butter
1/3 cup firmly paced brown sugar
1/4 cup pecans, chopped fine
Sift together the flour and baking powder. Blend together the butter, and brown sugar; creaming well. Add the dry ingredients. Mix with an electric mixer or spoon until mixture resembles coarse meal.
Stir in the 1/4 cup pecans; mix well. Pat firmly into the bottom of well greased 12 by 8 by 2 inch pan.
Bake at 350* for 10 minutes only.
Pecan Topping:
2 eggs
3/4 cup dark corn syrup
1/4 cup firmly packed brown sugar
2 tbl. flour
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. vanilla
3/4 cup pecans, chopped
30 pecan halves
Preparation:
Beat eggs until foamy. Add corn syrup, brown sugar,flour, salt and vanilla. Mix well. Pour over partially baked crust.
Sprinkle with the 3/4 cup pecans. Arrange, if desired, 30 pecan halves over the top.
Bake at 350* for 25-30 minutes.
